Trailer Roundup - July 6th
Everyone and their mom decided to release trailers today, so let’s do a little round-up, shall we?
The Woman King
I recently just binged all of How to Get Away with Murder because I have something of a crush on Liza Weil aka Paris Geller of Gilmore Girls. How to Get Away With Murder is a Mess, but Viola Davis is a force of nature (and maybe a terrible lawyer??). Davis is now leading an army and I’m stoked. Plus Lashana Lynch and John Boyega directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood?? Sign me up.
Emily The Criminal
I tried desperately to get tickets for this at Sundance, but failed. Honestly, now that I’ve seen the trailer, I don’t know if I’m sold, but Aubrey Plaza has been underutilized for YEARS.
Clerks III
I guess now might be the time to finally watch Clerks for the first time??
Resurrection
Yet another film I failed to see at Sundance. This time it’s Rebecca Hall and truly, do I need to say more?
Dishonorable Mention
I cannot believe it is the year of our lord 2022 and I have to waste words on David O. Russell. First of all, I don’t like his movies, but that’s for another day. Second, he has so many instances of alleged abuse!! And here he is, just cranking out another movie. Also, I’m mad at these actors for continuing to work with him. Google him one time and read about how he treated Amy Adams like trash or how George Clooney called working with the worst experience he’s ever had. What are we even doing???
