If you’re a fan of cruising the 101 around Los Angeles in a fast car and lifting millions in diamonds, boy, do we have a film for you! It’s Crime 101, starring Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry, and Mark Ruffalo, and is a return to the gritty crime dramas of the ’70s, but with a modern visual style. What more could anyone ask for? Actually, if we didn’t have notes for the director, we wouldn’t have a podcast. Stratis loved almost everything about this movie, but was hung up on just how damned pretty Hemsworth is. It could be jealousy, but he tries to make a point. Tina goes off on why automakers shouldn’t install transmission gear dials in cars – they just don’t look cool in a car chase. We both wish the ending wasn’t so perfect, but maybe that says more about us than the film.
