On this week’s car ride home we travel to ancient Rome and let Ridley Scott return us to the world of the Gladiators, twenty-four years after the original Gladiator film. Stratis learns that this is Tina’s second viewing, and is surprised she really likes it. We both agree that this is a retread of the plot of the first film, but neither of us cared since we were having such a good time. Tina gives some extra insight about the production and costume design since she interviewed both of the people responsible for those elements. Stratis takes a short nap, so Tina has to fill him in on some plot points. So many great performances, but we both thought Denzel Washington was having the best time of them all. We wished we could have ditched our car and ridden a rhino home from the Coliseum. Strength and Honor!
