FIRST LOOK: Trailer & Images for “Avatar: Fire and Ash”
In 2009, no one predicted the cultural phenomenon that James Cameron’s Avatar would become. That first film has lead to four announced sequels, one of the funniest Saturday Night Live skits of all time, a theme park land, and much more. Of the four sequels, one, The Way of Water, was released in 2022 and in December of 2025, the third film, Fire and Ash, will bring the Na’vi and Pandora back to the big screen.
Fire and Ash will release exclusively in theaters worldwide in IMAX 3D, Dolby Cinema 3D, RealD 3D, Cinemark XD, 4DX, ScreenX, and premium screens everywhere on December 19, 2025.
Like trailers for previous installments of the Avatar series, this trailer for Fire and Ash doesn’t offer us many lines of dialogue to piece together what might be the story for the new film. Though, it does offer a wide array of new creatures, new places, and new Avatars. The most intriguing aspect comes at the very end of the trailer. What we’ve learned about the Na’vi from previous films is that they are deeply spiritual beings. However, that spirituality doesn’t seem to carry over to all clans of Na’vi on Pandora as evidenced by this scathing, intense, seemingly leader of the Fire clan. She snarls at one of the heroes, “your goddess has no dominion here.” Fans will have to wait until December to see what’s in store for the fate of the Sully family and Pandora as a whole.
