First Images: “Couture” Premiering at TIFF 2025
The 2025 Toronto International Film Festival is right around the corner. With it comes world premieres for films that will surely be in the award season conversation. One of those such films is Couture.
Written & directed by Alice Winocour, Couture takes place in the mayhem of Paris fashion week. The film is focused on the intersection of three women at various points in their lives, working in different careers, and quietly sharing in the horrors that come from people in positions of power. Angelina Jolie portrays a filmmaker in her 40s who has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, Anyier Anei plays a new model who is using this career to leave predetermined future in South Sudan, and Ella Rumpf takes on the role of make-up artists. The way their stories intersect speaks to the shared experience of women across countries, jobs, and cultures.
Couture will have its world premiere as part of the Special Presentations program at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.
